BuyDice.ca | Distorted Vision Dice

At Distorted Vision Dice, we believe dice are more than gaming tools — they’re personal expressions of story, craft and identity. Every set we make is handmade with intention and pride. As the founder and a colourblind artist, I approach dice-making from a unique visual perspective — one shaped by disability and dedicated to embracing it, not hiding it.

Colourblindness happens when the eye’s photoreceptors — specifically the cones — don’t work as expected. Humans typically have three types of cones in the retina, each sensitive to red, green or blue light. When one type doesn’t function properly, it affects how colours are perceived. In my case, overlapping wavelengths confuse the cones and make it difficult to tell one shade from another. It’s not that I can’t see colour — it’s that my brain interprets certain colours differently based on limited, shifted or missing input from the photoreceptors. This means that when I design dice, I'm working from a visual world that may not match yours — and that’s exactly what makes each set a little unusual, a little unpredictable and fully unique.

The name Distorted Vision Dice isn’t meant to apologize for seeing differently — it’s a declaration that different ways of seeing have value. What some call a flaw, I see as a creative filter. Every colour choice I use is guided by instinct. Whether you're here because you love handcrafted art or are just looking for dice that don’t look like every other set on the table — welcome.
